After years of development SolarWash the automated solar panel washing system is available! After many years of research and development SolarWash, Inc. is proud to release its SolarWash SW500 Automatic Photovoltaic Panel washing system.
- The SolarWash system is a distributed automated cleaning system with the flexibility to meet the production requirements of large scale systems. Plant Operators select when to wash the panels based on the input from the plants SCADA, Time of Day/Week or manually select to clean the arrays by 20 MW block.
- Does not require shutdown of the trackers before washing meeting the OSHA Lock and Tag requirements for energized photovoltaic systems.

- Working in conjunction with a major manufacturer of single axes trackers SolarWash has gained approval for the attachment of our PV module cleaning system to the single axes tracker system and WILL NOT VOID YOUR WARRANTY!
SolarWash is capable of cleaning four hundred and twenty photovoltaic panels ranging from 250 WDC – 350WDC at one time. Most popular panels can be accommodated by our patent pending nozzle mounting system and automatic controls. Each SolarWash unit is controlled remotely by the Human Machine Interface (HMI) via the solar power plants SCADA monitoring system. SolarWash has an electronic level control that allows the plant operators to measure the amount of water that is used by each unit before and after a complete wash cycle. This enables the use of our proprietary software to allow the operations staff to schedule panel washing when it produces the most benefit! The economics of SolarWash will allow entire systems, or sections, to be cleaned anytime based on the production output of the system Plant operations will not be limited on a manual cleaning once or twice a year.
In addition to fluid monitoring, the system uses a non-clogging wash nozzle that produces a wave action to remove even the most stubborn dirt and animal waste from the glass surface. This means less maintenance in replacing clogged nozzles due to mineral degradation. Our nozzles are designed specifically for this application and are not “off the shelf” irrigation nozzels which spray a “rain droplet” to soak the panel surface. Our nozzels send a “wave” of water down the panel to remove the “tough stuff”.
WATER RECOVERY? The SolarWash system has an option for capturing the spent water and recycle it to the SolarWash unit for filtering. This means that the operators can reuse the initial rinse water and “filter” it for the next washing.
The SolarWash system is completely OSHA compliant for avoiding the steps necessary to manually clean a photovoltaic array.
SolarWash does not require the use of deionized water and can be further enhanced with the addition of a “non-soap” based cleaning solution such as PolyWater without any equipment degradation to the SolarWash components or breach of warranty issues.
